Daniel Thwaites Graduate Programme

Daniel Thwaites is a diverse hospitality business made up hotels, spas, inns, pubs and a craft brewery located across England. With an eye for quality, our purpose is to make people feel at ease through real hospitality, delivered by friendly faces in our outstanding properties in great locations. The business was founded in 1807 and continues to be family run, with over 215 years of history. The Company is proud of its heritage, but is also progressive, always looking to innovate to offer the best guest experience.

About the Graduate Programme

We’re looking for graduates to join our business, and over 18 months on an operational programme develop from supervisor into a department manager. You will experience the world of both hotels, spas and inns, rotating through operational departments to gain a detailed understanding of our business and the industry. You will be able to learn from your peers through mentoring and coaching, develop your commercial knowledge and leadership skills all with the view to enhancing your career and becoming an inspirational leader. By the end of the programme, you will have gained hands on experience with a career pathway to move into an operational management role.

The qualities we are looking for:

We’re looking for enthusiastic, positive and personable people who are passionate about developing their career and becoming future leaders; team players who are naturally hospitable and enjoy being with other people. You will most likely have recently graduated from university with a hospitality degree although this is not essential and will have proven experience of working in a hospitality environment, ideally to a supervisory level. The next 18 months will see you relocate to any two of our properties, working in places like the beautiful Lake District to York and the Yorkshire Dales, Leeds, Bristol,  Cirencester, Hampshire and the South Coast - the Company has properties across the country.

We are looking for Graduates to start summer 2025.

Please note we're unable to provide sponsorship to overseas candidates at this time.

In return, we are offering a rewarding role with scope for career progression along with;

  • A competitive salary
  • Wagestream - the ability to draw down up to 40% of your monthly wages as you earn them each week
  • Staff accommodation
  • 28 days annual leave (rising to 33 days after 5 years)
