Project Manager - Swindon

Summary

We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to join our team on a 3-year FTC to develop and manage a new UK-wide Network designed to inspire and support towns and cities to put access to nature at the heart of their future plans, resulting in healthier, happier people and greener more prosperous places. The Network is part of a wider partnership initiative to:

Put green space at the heart of community life, improving well-being, prosperity, connection and local pride.

Deliver a step change in access to green space, many more people will have green space within a short walk or wheel from home.

Create better quality green spaces where people feel supported, encouraged able to spend time being active outdoors, every day.

Ensure nature recovery and nature-based solutions, planned and delivered with communities, are central to tackling health inequalities and improving climate resilience in towns and cities.

What it's like to work here

We’re bigger than you think, we’re more complicated than we appear and we’re larger scale than you’d imagine. We’ve got passionate people in all our teams, and we’ve got so much more we want to achieve. We’re forever, for everyone and we really mean that.

We want everyone to enjoy access to high quality, nature-rich green space close to home. So our new work on urban green space is all about working in partnership to bring this ambition to life, from communities and local councils to landowners, funders and investors.

Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.

Post holders should expect some travel across the UK to meet with colleagues and partners.

What you'll be doing

You'll be working with colleagues, partners and stakeholders to design, develop and manage a UK-wide multidisciplinary peer network. The network aims to improve the confidence, capacity and capability of people and organisations to create, improve and maintain high quality, nature-rich green spaces, thereby improving equality of access to green space for people living in cities and towns across the UK

You'll engage stakeholders and partners to develop and evolve the network, based on ongoing evaluation and learning.

You'll grow the network offering and the number of people, places and organisations involved and benefiting.

You'll be required to work with colleagues to secure future funding for the network, from public, private and charitable sources.

You'll work with event producers, communications colleagues, content producers, subject matter specialists and consultants to design and schedule Network activity.

You will manage staff and contractors, in a matrix model, and be responsible for a budget of approx £100,000 per annum

Who we're looking for

You can view the role profile, which explains the potential scope of the role, in the document attached. We’d love to hear from you if you’re

? Able to demonstrate experience of successfully delivering complex end to end project/programme management, including defining resources, leading procurement securing project teams and matrix management across multiple projects/programmes
