About the company:

A market leading mechanical and electrical engineering contractor operating across the UK and mainland Europe. Our client provides full mechanical and electrical contracting services as well as specialist high voltage (HV) and medium voltage (MV) design and construction services to clients across a number of different sectors including Power, Renewables, Data Centres, Life Sciences etc.

Role Summary:

Responsible for planning, organising, leading, coordinating and controlling all activities concerned with the design and procurement of engineering projects. The Project Engineer will be involved in providing High Voltage/Medium Voltage (HV/MV) design & build services of both AIS & GIS systems up to 400kV to DNOs, TSOs, the renewables sector and large industry facilities requiring high capacity power.

Package:

  • Salary - Up to 75k
  • Working conditions - Hybrid (bi-weekly visits to Glasgow or Aberdeen office required)

Selected Key Responsibilities:

  • The refinement of an engineering construction project plan and leads its organization Scheduling, and implementation.
  • He/she is the key point of contact with the client and builds and creates strong, assertive, and positive relationships.
  • They ensure a quality focus and quality outcomes so that the Kirby Group vision, mission & values are fulfilled.
  • He/she shall act as the face of engineering to the customer/employer/client, and… in conjunction with the project team, will be responsible for the execution of various stages of a project
  • Liaise with Vendors of Long Lead items in conjunction with Engineering Delivery Manager
  • Confirming Vendor offers are in compliance with the Works Information:
  • Liaise with client and design team on procurement and engineering issues.
  • Manage the RFI/TQ list on BIM360 to all parties.
  • Liaise with Engineering Design team on all design timelines
  • Attend internal progress meetings and meetings with Clients
  • Hold regular progress meetings with vendors of HV equipment to ensure any queries/delays are dealt with at an early stage.
  • Advise Project Manager in good time of any potential project risks.
