Wehave an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiasticScrub Nurse/ODP to join our expanding Theatre team at TheWestbourne Centre. The Centre is one of the UK’s largestindependent clinics established in 2009 as part of a joint venturebetween 5 regional consultants and the global hospitalcompany, RamsayHealthcare.

As well asdelivering exceptional standards of clinical care to our surgicalpatients, the successful candidate will have the opportunityto broaden their theatre nursing experience by managing astimulating case mix. Ophthalmology scrub experience isdesirable.

Itis essential that the candidate willhave

  • Currentmedical and/or surgical experience within a hospitalenvironment

  • Currentregistration with the HCPC or NMC (UK) and ongoingCDP

  • Comprehensiveunderstanding of relevant clinical standards in a surgicalenvironment

  • Theability to scrub for more than onespeciality

  • Excellentcommunication skills, both written andoral

  • Excellentcustomer careskills

  • Agood standard of computerliteracy

  • Theability to work within ateam

  • Theability to time-manageeffectively

  • Willingnessto be flexible during periods of low activity and work extra hourswhererequired

TheWestbourne Centre is a private day surgery facility in the heart ofthe Edgbaston Medical Quarter in Birmingham. The Centre bringstogether a diverse group of clinical specialists andstate-of-the-art facilities, enabling the highest qualityprocedures, treatments and patient experience for private, insuredand NHS patients.

Thetheatre department at The Westbourne Centre is expanding with moreconsultants joining the team and using the facilities. TheApplicant must have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as aTheatre/scrub practitioner and Ophthalmic experience isdesirable.

Thesuccessful applicant will complement the current team, helping toensure that efficient and individualised high quality patient care,is offered to our whole patientgroup.

The successfulapplicant will find a friendly, supportive group of clinicians andnurses, within which career progression and ongoing education arefullysupported.

Successfulcandidates will be subject a 6 month probationaryperiod.

Hours ofbusiness at The Westbourne Centre are 8am – 8pm Monday to Fridayand 8am -4pm on aSaturday.
