About the Role
LiuGong Machinery UK is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our dynamic team in the North East of England. As a Field Service Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the maintenance and repair of LiuGong machinery at customer sites across the region. This role is perfect for someone who is self-motivated, enjoys working independently, and is passionate about providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Field Service: Carry out on-site repairs, maintenance, and diagnostics on LiuGong machinery, including excavators and wheel loaders.
  • Customer Relations: Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring the highest level of service. Be a representative of LiuGong Machinery UK and uphold our professionalism and safety standards.
  • Scheduled Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance as per customer contracts and manufacturer guidelines to keep machinery in optimal working condition.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical assistance and guidance to customers to resolve any operational issues.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair faults on machines and equipment efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime for customers.
  • Documentation: Complete detailed reports on work performed, including service reports, job logs, and parts usage. Ensure all administrative work is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Parts Management: Identify parts required for repairs and maintenance, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery.
  • Safety Compliance: Always adhere to health and safety policies and procedures. Carry out risk assessments as required and always ensure safe working practices.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer or similar role, ideally in the heavy machinery or construction industry, preferably for an OEM.
  • Technical Skills: Strong technical knowledge and experience in mechanical and electrical systems. Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems is a plus.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose and repair machinery faults efficiently and effectively.
  • Customer Service: Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers, ensuring their needs are met.
  • Self-Motivated: Ability to work independently, manage your own schedule, and prioritize tasks.
  • Full Driving License: A clean, valid UK drivers license is essential for this role, as the job requires frequent travel to customer sites across the country.
  • Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of health and safety regulations in a field service environment.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work outside of regular hours if required and travel across the region.

Desirable:

  • A technical qualification in engineering or related fields (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, etc.) is beneficial.
  • Experience working with LiuGong Equipment.
