Whatyou'll do

As a PrincipalEngineer, you’ll be creating great customer outcomes by scalingOpen Source and InnerSource best practices to existing and newchallenges, and technology designs which are innovative, customercentric, high performance, secure androbust.

You’ll be leading themore significant, complex and technically challenging assignments,coordinating OSPO strategic solutions, making sure that theirtechnical journeys support realisation of the targets, and deliverthe values of the relevant metrics published to ourinvestors.

You’ll alsobe:

  • Defining,creating and providing oversight and governance of Open Source andInnerSource engineering and design solutions with a focus onend-to-end automation, simplification, resilience, security,performance, scalability andreusability
  • Working with the OSPO team membersto design and engineer complex software, scripts and tools toenable the delivery of bank platforms, applications and services,acting as a point of contact for solution designconsiderations
  • Defining and developingarchitecture models and roadmaps of application and softwarecomponents to meet OSPO and Open Source technical requirements,driving common usability across products anddomains
  • Influencing the development ofstrategies and architecture at OSPO and enterprise levels,identifying transformational opportunities for the businesses andtechnologyareas

The skillsyou'll need

You’ll come withexperience in engineering with Open Source frameworks andplatforms, as well as experience of developing software within aDevOps and Agileframework. 

Along with anunderstanding of the latest Open Source market trends, technologiesand tools, you’ll bring experience of implementing engineering bestpractice, around GitLab or GitHub, API integration, cloud nativeengineering, developer portal integration and metricsreporting.

You’ll alsoneed:

  • A backgroundin engaging with engineering communities, whilst introducing andexecuting collaborative technical strategies
  • Adrive to represent the OSPO at Open Source foundation meetings,community events and public speakingopportunities
  • A working knowledge of OpenSource foundations such as the Linux Foundation, CNCF, FINOS andInnerSource Commons
  • The ability to rapidly andeffectively understand and translate product and businessrequirements into technical solutions
  • Abackground of working with code repositories, bug tracking toolsand wikis
