As part of our continuedgrowth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a DomesticAssistant to join our close-knit team at Westbourne School locatedin Sutton in Ashfield, part of Acorn Education.

About the role

Toprovide the Centre with a high level of cleanliness and hygienethroughout the building

Responsibilities

  • To carry out all cleaning to the requiredstandard of cleanliness as specified by the school, thereforemeeting high standards of hygiene.

  • To ensure that any tools or light equipment andmachinery supplied for use are kept in good condition and storedsecurely in the designated areas.

  • To keep storage areas clean and tidy and makesure all materials and equipment are stored in a safemanner.

  • To ensure thecorrect use of materials and equipment in accordance with themanufacturer’s instructions andrecommendations.

  • To use,where appropriate, powered equipment in undertaking cleaningduties.

  • To carry out allwork in line with Health and Safety regulations and riskassessments.

  • To notify theAdministrator/Headteacher of any mechanical failure of equipment orequipment unsafe for use. To inform the Site Manager of additionalsupplies or cleaning materials required.

  • To report any graffiti or hazards to the SiteManager.

  • To place allrubbish from bins in sacks and take to the designatedarea.

  • To undertake allcleaning duties including washing, sweeping, vacuuming, emptying oflitter bins, dusting and polishing of the designated areasincluding toilets, showers, fixtures and fittings and innerglass.

  • To cover for absentcolleagues and undertake any other reasonable cleaning or alliedtask as requested.

  • To read,understand and adhere to the school’s rules and policies relatingto equal opportunities, health and safety, child protection anddealing with pupils, staff and parents.

Westbourne School caters for pupils aged 11-18 and we aregrowing to 85 pupils across two sites. You will be responsiblefor planning and delivering various subjects across the curriculum.Differentiation and individualised learning strategies are vitalskills required to meet the needs of all our pupils who will havehad varying degrees of success in their educationallives.
