Job Title: Legal Counsel
Term: 12-month FTC
Salary: Competitive

As a Commercial Solicitor, you'll play a crucial role in providing high-quality legal counsel and support across the organisation. Your key responsibilities will include:
Legal Advice and Support:
- Provide high-quality legal advice on charity law and regulatory compliance.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and legal documents.
Governance and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with charity law, company law, and other relevant legislation.
- Advise on charity governance, including board and committee structures.
Risk Management:
- Identify and assess legal risks, providing practical solutions.
- Manage disputes and litigation, coordinating with external legal counsel.
Training and Capacity Building:
- Deliver training sessions on relevant legal issues.
- Promote legal literacy within the organization.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with legal and cross-functional teams.
- Communicate complex legal concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 3-4 years PQE.
- Proven experience in a similar role within a charity or non-profit organisation, or relevant experience in private practice.
- In-depth understanding of charity law, company law, and regulatory frameworks.
- Strong analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently.
- Passion for our mission and values, with a commitment to humanitarian principles.
- A valid DBS check.
