Mechanical Fitter

Carbon60 are currently looking for a Mechanical Fitter to join a client of ours based in Norwich. This position is a temp to perm position.Working Hours/Shift Pattern: 39 hours/ week, 8am - 16:30, Monday - Thursday, 8am - 15:30 Friday, 30 min lunchType of Employment: 12 weeks temporary to permanent.Pay/Salary: Dependant on experienceBand 2 £31050/ annum, £15.31/hourBand 3 £34184/annum, £16.86/hourBand 4 £36984/annum, £18.24/hourMain duties & responsibilities:You will carry out Repairs to all types of industrial equipment including AC and DC motors, Motorised Gearboxes, Gearbox's, Pumps, Fan units, Generators and other associated rotating equipment Size of component can vary significantly from one job to the next - could be a fractional horse powered fan unit, then next one could be a 5-ton DC mill motor or large vertical pumpYou will have the ability to fault find and identify and rectify defects and worn / damaged componentsAdvantageous to have basic electrical testing capability to assess electrical condition of AC & DC components - will be taking examination to verify and won't be working aloneHave sound mechanical engineering knowledge to identify and rectify faulty and worn / damaged componentsYou will be flexible and be prepared to work the hours required in a demanding and busy 24 / 7 service orientated environmentParticipate in call out rota as requiredSite working experience and CCNSG passport is advantageous, use company vehicle to travel to different sites - 3rd party will provideEssential skills / experience / qualifications:Active clean UK driving license essentialEngineering background, NVQ Level 3, ONC, HNC City and Guilds or equivalent Time served also applicable highly preferableNeed to have practical skillset as well as academic understanding of mechanical aspectsAble to meet physical demands of the roleUnderstanding of repairing rotating equipment with or without direct prior experienceManual machining/lathing experience advantageousUnderstanding engineering technical drawingsAbout Our client:Our client is a leading Specialised Industrial Service Provider, making remarkable a reality every single day.They offer a wide range of innovative and high-quality industrial service solutions with the overall mission to make 'industry work better'.
