We have roles in different teams including:

  • Community based treatment services: providingassessment, coordinating treatment and working partnership tosupport individuals. The roles include delivering structuredpsycho-social interventions in group and one to level to enable ourservice users to acquire thinking skills and behaviours to makelasting change.
  • Homeless outreach provision:Targeting homeless individuals, offering a flexible and outreachresponse to highly vulnerable individuals sleeping rough or livingin temporary accommodation
  • Criminal Justicerehabilitation/recovery services:  working closely with theProbation Services, Prisons and Police to provide a rapid, tailoredresponse to individuals that support their recovery andrehabilitation

As a Recovery Workerwe offer a starting salary of £24,150 with annual pay progressionup to £28,252. (Dependent on experience you may be offered astarting salary above the initial starting salary).

Role Responsibility

Recovery workers act as ‘key workers’ to a caseload ofservice users, supporting them to decide their goals aroundtreatment and develop plans to achieve these. The role includesmaintaining regular contact with your clients, offering advice,information and psycho-social interventions as well as providingassessments, risk management planning and working closely with ourclinical staff around prescribing needs and partner agencies. Noday is the same in this role but an ability to communicateeffectively with a range or service users and colleagues, anability to manage different tasks and a commitment to Turning Pointvalues are essential. You may have lived experience of substanceUse/mental health/homelessness (self or a significant other), comewith experience supporting people in health and social care or justhave a keen interest in supporting this group; if your values areright, we have a role for everyone.

The IdealCandidate

You’ll have an understanding ofsubstance and alcohol use and the challenges and opportunities forindividuals on a recovery journey. However, we also recognise thatmany people have transferrable skills from other backgrounds suchas mental health, housing or other health and social careprovision. The roles are varied, so flexibility, an ability to workdynamically on a one to one and group basis and knowledge ofrelapse and other barriers to recovery will be vital but we canhelp to shape these skills where needed. We also look forcandidates with excellent communication skills and who share ourvalues as an organisation. We value individuals with livedexperience but also those who are just interested in this line ofwork; our Trainee Recovery Worker program enables individualswithout all relevant experience to gain an entry level positionwithin the organisation before moving on to other roles.
