We have a fantastic new opportunity to join our Communities Team as a Community Asset Lead on a full time permanent basis.

This role will be based from our Basingstoke office, combining time in the office with working from home. There will be occasional travel across our geography, so you'll need access to transport and be happy to travel.

The starting salary is £36,000 - £42,000 depending on experience.

The Role

The Community Asset Lead will coordinate the identification, development and management of our community assets (community centres) across the SNG geography.

You will build and maintain strong relationships with key partner organisations, embedding SNG's community asset transfer policy and procedure, community foundation strategy and corporate plan. 

You'll work closely with our Social Enterprise and Community Investment and Partnership Leads to maximise social investment opportunities to enhance local community development, build capacity within key anchor organisations, and adopt an asset-based community development approach to sustainable delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working with SNG's commercial property, asset management, legal and locality teams to enhance the operation and delivery of community assets
  • Undertaking comprehensive asset mapping across the SNG geography to support the effective management of our community resources
  • Facilitate payments to lease/licence holders where appropriate and manage the budget line effectively and appropriately.
  • Develop, manage and capacity build community organisations to deliver programmes that support the needs and aspirations of the local community
  • Represent SNG as a thought-leader and ambassador at events, meetings, networks and other promotional and external engagement opportunities.

What we need from you

You should have previous experience in Asset Management or Housing, managing and developing community assets within the context of community investment.

You'll also have:

  • A proven track record of positive stakeholder engagement and relationship management
  • A passion for community-orientated working
  • Experience in asset documentation, leases and due diligence
  • Excellent organisational and IT skills including databases and social media
  • Strong operational management skills
