Summary
We have a rare opportunity for a Community, Participation and Volunteering Manager to join our team. This highly strategic role will play an important part within the portfolio’s Leadership Team, supporting the General Manager across the portfolio with priority aspects of community engagement and participation. You’ll do this by sharing key messages, information and decision making at the right time in the right way to keep key collaborators and everyone who loves to visit locally involved and engaged in what’s happening. What it's like to work here
Reporting to the General Manager, you'll be part of the Property Leadership Team as one of seven departmental leads. However, importantly, it's also a place where people live and work, many of whose lives are intimately entwined with our work. You'll be a member of a dynamic team working across this portfolio, rising to these challenges daily.
What you'll be doing
Conservation and visitor experience are at the heart of everything we do to enable us to look after these special places for ever, for everyone. We must ensure we keep everyone informed of this. Where there is scope, collaborators in our local community and beyond, should be able to participate in the decisions that impact them regarding our shared futures. This is where you’ll come in on a day-to-day basis.
You’ll develop and lead on all strategic aims and plans related to working with collaborators in our communities, with the support of our Visitor Operations Managers, Countryside Managers and Project Managers.
You’ll also use your strong people skills to establish effective working relationships with property colleagues, as well as with our partners and collaborators in communities across the Northumberland Coast & Hadrian’s Wall Country.
You can view the full role profile and role profile context for this role in the documents attached. You don't need to have all of the knowledge, skills and experience listed in the role profile; this is just to provide a full picture of what’s possible in this role.
