Whatyou'll do

As an EnterpriseArchitect, you’ll be leading the architecture function, definingand communicating the current, resultant and target statearchitecture for your assigned scope. You’ll be making sure thatthe architecture links to, and is informed by, our overall strategyand architecture, and produces the architectureoutcomes.

We’ll look to youstrongly influence the development of business strategies at anorganisational level, identifying transformational opportunitiesfor our businesses and technology areas associated with both newand existing technologies.

Aswell as this, you’llbe:

  • Setting acan-do attitude for the architectural possibilities for the core ofthe bank, ensuring that these are understood and supported at aboard level and by a team of solutionarchitects
  • Translatingarchitecture roadmaps into packages of work that allow frequentincremental delivery of value to be included in productbacklog
  • Defining, creating and maintainingarchitecture models, roadmaps, standards and outcomes, usingarchitecture strategies to ensure alignment to adjacent and higherlevel model
  • Working closely with businessowners, portfolio managers, product managers and release managersto define the target intentionalarchitecture
  • Leading complex and technicallychallenging architectural transformations, coordinating design andplatform teams across domains
  • Seeking out andutilising continuous feedback, fostering adaptive design andengineering practices to drive the collaboration of programmes andteams around a common technical vision
  • Defininga capability based story for core banking and the wider supportinginfrastructurefoundations

Theskills you'llneed

To succeedin this role, you’ll have excellent communication skills andstorytelling ability with the ability to clearly communicatecomplex technical concepts to colleagues, up to senior leadershiplevel, ensuring wider stakeholder buy in for the strategies beingdelivered. Along with a good understanding of Agile methodologies,you also have experience of working in an Agile team. You’ll needexpert knowledge of application architecture, and at least onebusiness, data or infrastructure architecture with an in-depthknowledge of the remainingdisciplines.

Aswell as this, you'll need experience of enterprise architecture ina large regulated financial institution and experience of assessingand defining options to modernise the core of a large enterprise ormajor financialinstitution.

You’ll alsodemonstrate:

  • Experienceof developing, syndicating and communicating architectures, designsand proposals for action
  • The ability to leadand drive the architectural design for a major core bankingtransformation journey and experience of defining roadmaps
  • An understanding of industryarchitecture frameworks, such as TOGAF andArchiMate
  • Experience of working with businesssolution vendors, technology vendors and products within themarket
  • A background in systems developmentchange life cycles, best practices and approaches aligned toknowledge of hardware, software, application and systemsengineering
  • The ability to balance strategicand interim designs, providing pragmatic solutiondesigns
