Breakfast Chef - New Opening - Cirencester, Gloucestershire

Location: THE PIG - and The Village Pub, Barnsley, Cirencester, Gloucestershire.

Salary: From £11.50 per hour (DOE) plus service charge

Hours: 37.5 hours per week.

Contract Type: Permanent

Start Dates: Mid-August. THE PIG - and The Village Pub is due to open early September. Therefore, for training purposes this role has an anticipated start date of Mid-August. We kindly ask all applicant to take this into consideration upon application.

Welcome to THE PIG - and The Village Pub

In January 2024, we acquired the 17th century Barnsley House hotel that is tucked away in the quintessential Cotswold's village of Barnsley, just four miles from Cirencester. THE PIG - and The Village Pub offers guests a classic example of an English country garden that evolves with the seasons including a kitchen garden that will supply the produce found on our 25-mile menu.

We are delighted to start the recruitment for a Breakfast Chef to join our kitchen brigade.

The Role:

With no late-nights or evenings, plus fixed shift times to allow you to balance work and home, this could be the best job in the kitchen. As our Breakfast Chef you will be running the breakfast service, ensuring all standards are maintained for both the made to order menu and breakfast buffet. You will be responsible for the prep of all breakfast items for the following day, plus general support to the kitchen for the day ahead, including providing staff lunch.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Running the breakfast service, preparing both made to order and breakfast buffet items.
• Preparing food in advance, whilst maintaining sufficient stock levels.
• Support with the organisation and implementation of staff meals on duty.
• Lead by example, supporting our Apprentice Chefs with their skills and development
• Maintain a clean and organised workspace, meeting hygiene standards.

You will need to be committed to morning shifts. You will often work alone, so will need to be confident to manage a busy breakfast service. There's no need to have been to catering college or have a high level of qualifications. However, basic skills to confidently prepare and cook the breakfast menu is essential.
