Were seeking a dynamicindividual to manage engineering activities through thepre-construction, detailed design, construction, and commissioningphases of our BESS assets. This will initially focus on UK projectswith over 400MW of projects at various stages of design,construction and commissioning in 2025. You would report directlyto our Head of Construction and work closely with our ProjectManagers, our Contractors and the DNO/TO. You’d also be supportedby specialists on topics such as health and safety, grid code,battery systems, planning, procurement, legal and commercialmanagement. You should have a strong electrical engineeringbackground and significant experience in the delivery ofgrid-connected energy projects. It would be preferable if you hadexperience delivering projects at transmission level. BESSexperience would be beneficial but is not essential. KeyResponsibilities Managing pre-construction engineering activities(following project development or acquisition) * Analysis andevaluation of the designs and studies/reports provided by ourcontractors. * Manage the exchange of technical information betweendifferent contractors and the relevant DNO/TO. * Support theconcept design phase of a project by producing initial SLDs andworking with other specialists in the team to develop site layoutsetc. * Provide technical support to our Project Managers andProcurement team in scheduled meetings with Contractors and BESSsuppliers. * Support the technical due diligence process requiredfor lender/investor approval. * Risk assessing detailed design froma health & safety perspective. * Coordinate with the griddevelopment team and become the key interface with DNO/TO throughthe construction phase. Managing construction engineeringactivities (up to commercial operations) * Support the HAZID/HAZOPprocess with our contractors (with support from our Quality,Health, Safety & Environment Manager) * Ensure technical RFI’sfrom our contractors are closed swiftly and accurately. * Analysisand evaluation of the detailed designs and studies/reports providedby our contractors. * Manage the exchange of technical informationbetween different contractors and the relevant DNO/TO. * Provideinput to and track the grid code compliance process (ONCP) withsupport from grid specialists and contractors. * Oversee qualitymanagement during manufacturing, FAT, delivery and site works. *Actively contribute technical input to our routine projectmanagement processes, such as risk management and lessons learned.* Be the technical authority for the construction phase, ensuringour contractors meet our employers requirements (e.g. issuing andfollowing quality plans, inspection and test plans, siteinspections, etc.). * Oversight of the C&I aspects of ourprojects, coordinating and evaluating input from BESS suppliers,BoP Contractors, Optimisers, etc. * Drive the testing andcommissioning phase of our projects.
