The Role

You will be responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of a large-scale construction project from pre-construction planning through to completion, ensuring it is delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards, while managing key stakeholder relationships, coordinating subcontractors, and maintaining strict adherence to health and safety regulations. You will provide an environment that allows the business to recruit, develop and retain talented team members to fulfil the present and future needs of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Execution:
  • Develop detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
  • Manage the procurement process, including selecting and negotiating contracts with subcontractors.
  • Oversee site operations, including managing construction activities, quality control, and progress monitoring.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Client and Stakeholder Management:
    • Act as the primary client contact, providing regular project updates and addressing concerns.
    • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders including architects, engineers, consultants, and local authorities.
    • Facilitate effective communication between all project team members.
      • Team Leadership and Development:
      • Lead and mentor project team members, including site managers, engineers, and administrative staff.
      • Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively to ensure efficient project execution.
      • Foster a collaborative working environment with a strong focus on safety and quality.
        • Commercial Management:
        • Monitor project costs and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
        • Manage contractual obligations and resolve commercial disputes with subcontractors.
        • Prepare and present project financial reports to senior management.
          • Health and Safety:
          • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations on site.
          • Proactively identify and address potential safety hazards.
          • Conduct regular safety inspections and training sessions for site personnel.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven track record as a Senior Project Manager in large-scale construction projects within the London market.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction methodologies, project management principles, and relevant building regulations.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address complex challenges on site.
  • Proficiency in construction project management software and financial reporting tools.
  • A relevant Engineering, construction management degree or equivalent professional qualification.
