This Structural Design Engineer role has been created to support the consultancy's strategic expansion in Bristol. As part of a highly skilled team, the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering innovative and sustainable structural solutions. This position offers the opportunity to work on transformative designs, collaborate with industry-leading professionals, and develop your expertise while working towards chartership within a dynamic and supportive environment.

The Structural Design Engineer will:

  • Take ownership of structural engineering designs, providing innovative, efficient, and sustainable solutions that meet client and project requirements.
  • Support projects from concept through to completion, ensuring designs meet technical standards, budgets, and deadlines.
  • Work closely with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to deliver integrated design solutions and maintain clear and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct detailed reviews of designs and calculations to ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3-6 years of structural engineering experience, with exposure to a range of projects including commercial and residential developments.
  • Strong understanding of structural design across various materials (steel, concrete, timber, masonry) and familiarity with industry-standard software.
  • Actively working towards professional chartership (IStructE or ICE) with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and effectively, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals.
