Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), The PMO & Operational Excellence Lead will focus on driving performance improvement across global operations by managing and optimizing key operational metrics, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and tracking and driving the achievement of operational goals. This role will support the transformation of operations but will not be directly responsible for project management, as the PMO team oversees project execution. Instead, PMO & Operational Excellence Lead will focus on improving the day-to-day performance of operations through data-driven insights and optimization efforts.

The ideal candidate will have a strong operational background, be results-oriented, and demonstrate the ability to influence and work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to improve processes, efficiency, and performance across all business aspects. Someone with a consultancy background would be ideal for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Performance Management & KPI Tracking:

  1. Lead the establishment, tracking, and ongoing improvement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across operational functions, including manufacturing, supply chain, customer service, and logistics.
  2. Regularly analyze operational performance data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  3. Develop performance dashboards and detailed reports for leadership, providing insights into key operational metrics and supporting data-driven decision-making.
  4. Collaborate with functional leaders to set performance targets and track progress towards achieving business objectives, ensuring alignment with the company's overall strategy.
  5. Create and implement action plans to address performance gaps and continuously optimize operational performance.

Driving Continuous Improvement:

  1. Champion the continuous improvement mindset throughout the organization, using methodologies like Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen to optimize operations and eliminate inefficiencies.
  2. Identify and lead process improvement initiatives across the manufacturing, supply chain, and customer service functions, focusing on reducing costs, improving quality, and increasing operational efficiency.
  3. Work closely with key stakeholders to define operational performance objectives and support efforts to drive excellence in all functional areas.
  4. Implement best practices and process standards to ensure consistency and scalability across global sites.
  5. Use data-driven insights to optimize workflows, reduce bottlenecks, and enhance the overall efficiency of operational processes.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:

  1. Partner with senior leaders, including the COO, operations teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to align operational strategies and ensure the achievement of performance goals.
  2. Act as a trusted advisor to leadership, providing regular updates on operational performance, identifying opportunities for improvement, and suggesting corrective actions where necessary.
  3. Work cross-functionally with manufacturing, supply chain, customer service, and sales teams to ensure that performance excellence initiatives are fully integrated and aligned with broader business goals.
  4. Build strong relationships across the organization to promote collaboration and shared ownership of performance targets.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

  1. Leverage advanced data analytics to monitor key operational metrics and generate insights that drive performance improvements across the company.
  2. Provide clear and actionable reports to senior leadership, translating complex data into easily understandable recommendations for improving operational performance.
  3. Establish a system for regularly reviewing and evaluating operational performance against set targets, ensuring consistent improvement.

Supporting Transformation and Change:

  1. Support the company's transformation journey by ensuring that operational performance metrics and improvement efforts are aligned with broader business objectives and strategic goals.
  2. Provide insights into performance improvement areas contributing to successful transformation and business growth.
  3. Lead change management efforts related to performance optimization and process improvements, ensuring that changes are implemented smoothly and effectively across global operations.

Training and Development:

  1. Create and deliver training programs on performance excellence methodologies, including KPI tracking, Lean, and Kaizen, to ensure that employees at all levels are equipped to contribute to performance improvements.
  2. Mentor and coach operational teams to adopt best practices in data-driven performance management and continuous improvement.
  3. Encourage the development of a high-performance culture by fostering engagement in performance tracking and improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • At least 8-10 years of experience in operations management, continuous improvement, or performance excellence within the injectable medical device, pharmaceutical, or regulated industries.
  • Proven experience in KPI management, performance tracking, and process optimization in a global operational environment.
  • Expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methodologies, with a track record of successfully applying them to drive operational performance improvements.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate operational data into actionable business insights and decisions.
  • Results-oriented with a proven ability to improve performance, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Exceptional data analysis skills, with experience using analytics tools and software to derive insights from operational data.
  • Strong communication skills, presenting complex performance data in an accessible and actionable way for senior leadership.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and other performance management tools.
  • Fluency in English is required; additional language skills are a plus.
