Job Description:

Project Engineering Management

  • Lead and coordinate engineering teams across multiple countries, ensuring seamless collaboration and delivery.
  • Manage the Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) approach, ensuring alignment between engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
  • Oversee the issuance and consolidation of provisional drawing lists, integrating submission dates for efficient project execution.

Scheduling & Coordination

  • Develop and manage the global project engineering schedule, ensuring consistency across all functions and tracking critical activities.
  • Plan and oversee technical interface deliveries, establishing exchange interface sheets with partners, customers, and third-party contractors.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of design documents to stakeholders, maintaining the required quality, including partner-supplied documents.

Stakeholder & Change Management

  • Support the Project Engineering Director and Project I&I Manager in managing engineering change processes for large and complex projects.
  • Represent customer interests in design decisions, ensuring compliance with technical requirements through detailed clause-by-clause analysis and technical queries.
  • Manage scope and design changes, preparing claims and variation orders (VOs) for approval.

Team Leadership & Budget Oversight

  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, including Primary, Secondary, and Civil Designers.
  • Monitor and manage the engineering budget, identifying potential cost savings and highlighting any additional budget requirements to the Project Manager.

Design & Technical Assurance

  • Participate in multidisciplinary design reviews, ensuring compliance with EMH procedures and project strategies.
  • Validate designs throughout customer acceptance and oversee the return status of project documentation (approved, comments, resubmit, rejected) for assigned work packages.
  • Prepare and review technical specifications and supplier documents to support the procurement of materials and detailed design.
  • Ensure design effectiveness aligns with contract requirements while identifying cost optimisation opportunities, particularly during the basic design phase.


Desired Characteristics

  • Engineering degree or equivalent education/experience.
  • Proven experience as a Engineering Leader in a complex EPC environment.
  • Strong track record in project technical management within multidisciplinary teams, handling multiple interfaces, and managing engineering teams across different countries.
  • Experience with Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) methodologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Transmission or Distribution industry.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
