The Opportunity

My client; a PE backed scale up business is looking for a strong commercial finance professional to join their growing commercial finance team. This is a really exciting opportunity for a seasoned Finance Business Partner to join an organisation where they can take ownership of the budgeting and forecasting, financial modelling and integration when they make future acquisitions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support the annual budgeting process, including quarterly updates and reforests.
  • Assist department heads in refining assumptions and projections, identifying risks, and recognising opportunities.
  • Analyse monthly financial performance against projections and assist in adjustments to forecast models.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive financial model, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow, to enable long-term forecasting
  • Ensure that KPIs and performance indicators are tracked and clearly communicated to senior leadership.
  • Assist in scenario planning and financial impact analysis to support business decisions.
  • Work closely with the commercial and supply chain teams to understand product dynamics and their impact on financial outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the finance analyst to assess product profitability, identifying key action points for improvement.
  • Champion system enhancements within the finance function, particularly focusing on automating forecasting and budgeting workflows.
  • Improve data quality and reporting structures to enable efficient and accurate scenario-based reporting.
  • Support the integration of financial reporting for newly acquired businesses, liaising between departments to ensure smooth transitions.
  • Ensure the accurate setup of financial systems (e.g., Netsuite) for new acquisitions.
  • Assist in the creation of monthly reporting packs for the executive team, providing insight and analysis to guide decision-making.
  • Support the CFO and Director of FP&A with key financial modelling projects, particularly those aligned with strategic business initiatives.

Experience and Skills

  • Proven ability to build strong relationships across teams, fostering clear communication and smooth reporting channels.
  • Strong ability to convey financial data and insights to non-financial stakeholders in a clear, actionable manner.
  • Negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decision-makers.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to build robust financial models and present data visually.
  • Qualified would be desirable
