An exciting opportunity is now available at PoliceDigital Service for a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).Starting salary at £150,000 per annum. The Chief InformationSecurity Officer (CISO) will be responsible for establishing andmaintaining the organisation's vision, strategy, and programme toensure information assets and technologies are adequatelyprotected. As a key member of the executive team, the CISO willprovide strategic leadership in cyber security, ensuring alignmentwith organisational goals and the unique needs of UK policing.About Police Digital Service Police Digital Service strives to bethe go-to partner for technology developments and programmes acrossUK policing. Key Responsibilities: * A comprehensive andactionable cyber security strategy, reviewed and updated annually.* A robust incident response plan with quarterly simulationexercises. * Regular risk assessments with actionable mitigationplans. * Achieving and maintaining compliance with relevantregulatory standards and certifications. * Development and deliveryof a cyber security awareness programme for all staff. * Quarterlyreports to the board detailing the organisation's security posture,incidents, and improvements. * Successful implementation of keysecurity technologies within agreed timelines and budgets. *Establishment of strong partnerships with vendors and third-partyproviders to enhance security capabilities. * Creation of a cybersecurity dashboard to provide real-time visibility into key metricsand risks. * Regularly updated training programmes for staff,tailored to roles and responsibilities. What you need to succeed inthe role: * Proven experience as a CISO or similar seniorleadership role in cyber security. * Extensive knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and best practices. * Strongunderstanding of risk management, incident response, and regulatorycompliance. * Experience in leading and developing high-performingteams. * Exceptional communication and stakeholder managementskills. * Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA) arehighly desirable. * Knowledge of the UK policing landscape andassociated security challenges is a significant advantage. *Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and deliver resultsin high-pressure environments.
