The County Council is responsible for determining planning applications for minerals and waste development and the County's own development (Regulation 3). Through planning for sustainable development, we support growth whilst protecting the environment.

Our Planning Applications  team are looking for 3 people to join the team . The roles we currently have available are all in Development Management and are:

Planning Officer – To process both minerals and waste and Regulation 3 applications

Senior Planning Officer (Road Schemes) – To focus on planning applications related to Regulation 3 road schemes

Senior Planning Officer (Minerals and Waste) – To focus on planning applications for minerals and waste development, including providing planning services to a neighbouring authority.

The office location is County Hall in Oxford, however attendance in the office is not necessary on a day-to-day basis as we support agile working. The roles will require occasional site visits across Oxfordshire.

These are all 18 month fixed term roles.

About you

For these roles, you'll need either a degree or significant experience in Town and Country Planning or a related field. You will be able to interpret maps and plans, work to deadlines, and have experience in determining major planning applications. Additionally, you must possess excellent, up-to-date knowledge of planning legislation and policy as you'll be required to provide guidance, advice, and support to colleagues, councillors, applicants, agents, and the public as a professional specialist.
