Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom Newcastle Sixth Form College Full time

We are looking to appoint an exceptional teacher of Drama who will inspire a passion for Drama in our motivated and highly engaged students.

The department is dedicated to the incorporation of subject specific enrichment opportunities. We plan and offer a wide range of activities including guest speakers and relevant visits to ensure our students are prepared for their next steps.

This is an exciting opportunity for those who want to focus on A Level practice in an environment dedicated to academic achievement. If you have high expectations of yourself and those you teach, we'd love to hear from you.

The post would be suitable for ECT’s and newly qualified teachers, as well as high achieving graduates who would like to pursue a PGCE.

Newcastle Sixth Form College is the largest provider of A Levels in Newcastle-upon-Tyne with over 1300 students on a full-time academic programme.

At Newcastle Sixth Form College we want to enable teachers to be their best; our standard full-time teacher is responsible for four blocks of subject teaching (20 hours) and an hour of enrichment per week. In addition to this we offer pay, terms and conditions commensurate with schools and sixth form colleges.

We value and invest in our teachers and are committed to high quality, individualised professional development. For those who aspire to leadership we have an excellent track record of developing leaders from within.

We welcome applications from NQTs/ECTs and experienced teachers from schools, sixth form colleges and other post-16 A Level providers. We expect our staff to be positive role models for young people and we celebrate our diverse community, therefore we encourage applications from everyone regardless of age, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, beliefs or disability.

Newcastle Sixth Form College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff to share this commitment.

Interviews will take place the week commencing 20th May 2024.
