About the Role:
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Our friendly and supportive primary school in Dudley is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to work one-on-one with a Year 3 pupil.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of the pupil. You will work closely with the class teacher, parents, and other professionals to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored support to a Year 3 pupil with SEND on a 1:1 basis.Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching materials as required.Support the pupil in accessing the curriculum and participating fully in classroom activities.Foster positive relationships with the pupil to enhance their confidence and motivation.Monitor and record the pupil’s progress and report to the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).Collaborate with the wider school team to ensure a holistic approach to the pupil’s education and wellbeing.Requirements:
Previous experience working with children with SEND, ideally in a primary school setting.Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting children with diverse needs.Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent, are desirable.An understanding of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to the welfare of children.Why Join Us?
