Due to continued growth in pupils numbers, we are looking to appoint a Teacher of Maths with the ability to teach to A-Level (and additionally to teach economics) who is passionate about their subject to join a successful, dynamic and friendly team from September 2024.

The School’s latest Ofsted inspection in November 2023 rated Nicholas Breakspear Catholic School as ‘Outstanding’.

The School’s recent Catholic Schools Inspectorate Section 48 Inspection in March 2023 rated Nicholas Breakspear Catholic School as ‘Outstanding’.

The maths department has an excellent track record of results and has large numbers of students studying maths at KS5. In recent years, the department has introduced Core Maths AS Level and increased the number of classes of A Level Maths and Further Maths. Therefore, the ability to teach KS5 maths would be desirable.

The department has a subscription with Sparx and has many other resources that staff and pupils can use. Pupils participate in the UKMT maths challenges, team challenges across the local area and attend enrichment events, including a girls maths trip to the University of Oxford.

Nicholas Breakspear is a vibrant, nurturing and ambitious school. Situated on the outskirts of St Albans the school benefits from large spacious grounds and close links to London. The 2023 GCSE results place the school in the top 7% of schools nationally.
