Laboratory Technician, Laboratory Management Team

We are currently recruiting for a Laboratory Technician to join the Laboratory Management Team (LMT). The purpose of the role is to carry out routine tasks to aid and support the smooth running of the day-to-day activities of the non-GXP laboratory including waste management, stock control, reagent preparation, and cleaning.

Your responsibilities in this role would be:

  • Oversee, maintain and ensure quality of key stock consumables, media, solutions, buffers used by Scientists to ensure work activities are maintained.
  • Clean and maintain the laboratory equipment and facilities according to schedule.
  • Ensure OXB laboratory waste management systems are adhered to (including autoclave use and waste disposal).
  • Ensure equipment is serviced, calibrated, and fit for purpose. Raise new asset request numbers and prepare asset relocation and disposal forms for laboratory equipment, chaperone engineers.
  • Maintain documentation - populated, QC checked, and appropriately filed in accordance with local rules.
  • Excellent communication liaising with teams/departments and externally.
  • Assist in maintaining health and safety compliance as applicable.

We are looking for:

  • Educated to a Diploma level in a science subject or equivalent, but a minimum educated to GCSE A level (in a science subject) or equivalent qualification level or experience gained within a similar workplace and position.
  • Computer skills essential with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
