Cemetery Groundkeeper

Are you skilled in grounds maintenance and looking for a short-term opportunity to make a difference in your community? We are seeking a dedicated Cemetery Operative to join our team for a temporary 2-month placement, maintaining the serene and respectful environment of the four Torfaen Cemeteries.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Grounds Maintenance: Perform general grounds maintenance tasks to ensure the cemeteries are well-maintained and presentable.
• Strimming: Utilize a strimmer efficiently to maintain grass and vegetation around gravesites and other areas.
• General Upkeep: Assist with the overall upkeep of the cemetery grounds, including but not limited to mowing, weeding, pruning, and litter collection.
• Equipment Handling: Safely operate and maintain grounds maintenance equipment.
• Health and Safety: Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.

Requirements:

• Skills: Proficiency in using a strimmer is essential.
• Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and operating equipment for extended periods.
• Reliability: Punctual, dependable, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Health and Safety Awareness: Knowledge of health and safety practices relevant to grounds maintenance.
• Valid and active NMC Registration. 
• 6 Months proven experience as a Registered Mental Health Nurse with Rehabexpertise. 
• Excellent knowledge of medical terminology and procedures. 
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills. 
• Empathetic, caring, and dedicated to providing exceptional patient care. 
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment. 
• Attention to detail and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
