Work with us and you'll discover that our focus on people is unique. Earn while you learn through the apprenticeship programme and a unique opportunity to contribute to the build of the new nuclear plant.

About the programme
Join our dynamic team at Hinkley Point C in Somerset as a Pipefitter Apprentice. Be a part of a ground-breaking project that will significantly reduce the UK's carbon emissions and drive the effort towards Net Zero.

Our 36 month Pipefitter Apprenticeship programme is an immersive learning experience, blending technical knowledge with practical training to help you gain the qualifications you need for a successful career.
In this role, you'll develop the skills and experience needed to achieve Engineering Technician status and become a qualified pipefitter. As a Pipefitter Apprentice, you will:

* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
* Shape and profile pipes and components using power tools, mechanical cutting machines, and other equipment. * Learn how to work with various materials, such as carbon, stainless, and duplex steels
* Prepare and fit piping systems according to engineering drawings and specifications.
* Collaborate with pipe welders and across the wider business on various projects.
* Receive specific training tailored to nuclear industry requirements.

In addition to the above, you'll also receive training on accident and first aid, manual handling techniques, and working in potentially hazardous environments.

Your education/training You'll receive your training through Cavendish Nuclear on-site at Hinkley Point C in Bridgwater, and in the classroom at Bridgwater and Taunton College. The combination of real-world experience and classroom learning will help you to achieve your Level 3 Engineering Construction Pipefitter Apprenticeship.

Future prospects
Upon successfully completing the programme, you'll become a certified construction pipefitter and can expect to earn a competitive salary exceeding £30,000.

You may also have the opportunity to undertake higher-level qualifications to further your career within Cavendish Nuclear as part of the wider Babcock group across a variety of roles and functions.
