As an Open Data Analyst at Cadent, you will be responsible for preparing interoperable datasets in line with Data Best Practice guidance for external Cadent stakeholders, ensuring that Data Triage and other compliance processes derived from Data and Digitalisation regulation are in place and of a good quality and can serve as evidence of compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Provide additional support to the team in the delivery of open data.
- Support the administration and development of the Open Data Portal.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to fully understand open data requests and assess them by applying Cadent processes and standards.
- Maintain excellent records of stakeholder interactions with Cadent's open data, and provide insight and analysis of stakeholder needs
- Supporting the general operation of the data sharing process, assessing and responding to stakeholder requests for data through this process
- Conducting the triage process and supporting the education of data stewards on this process.
- Ensuring all approvals and signatures on relevant data sharing licences and governance documents are populated in line with the data sharing process.
- Process open data requests in line with the data sharing process, offering excellent customer service through transparency and openness. You will monitor Data User activity and review their feedback to priories the development of new data assets.
- Look for ways to deliver complex data in a form which offers benefit to the stakeholder, while keeping data secure. You will develop prototype data assets and work with the delivery ARTs to deliver these to production.
- Develop an excellent understanding of Data Best Practice with respect to Open Data so that you can better support Cadent's Open Data delivery through artefacts and procedures
- Interact with data owners and specialists to understand the sensitivities and limitations of the data which you are working with. You will become a subject matter expert on conducting the Data Triage process, supporting and advising Data Stewards when developing and administering data assets for delivery through this process.
Qualifications
- Educated to degree level within a related field or relevant experience within the data space.
Practical Experience
- Experience of working in an analyst role extracting data accurately and preparing it for publication.
- Experience in transforming, aggregating data.
- Experience of preparing and analysing Geospatial Data (ESRI) and time series data desirable.
Essential
- Experience in transforming, aggregating and deriving data within the parameters of a regulated process.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
Desirable
- Experience of preparing and analysing Geospatial Data and time series data would be beneficial.
- Ability to providing support in understanding the data triage process dimensions and stakeholders' needs.
- Strong business writing skills and ability to develop processes and procedures.
