CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator - Milling - Full time - Permanent - Egham


The CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC Milling Machines to produce high-precision aerospace components, emphasizing multi-axis machining and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • CNC Programming: Program 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC Milling Machines using Fanuc and Sinumerik controls.
  • Offline Programming: Utilize EDGECAM for offline programming to enhance machining efficiency and precision.
  • Machine Setup & Production: Set up machines, produce first-off components, and ensure all specifications and tolerances are met.
  • Documentation: Create detailed machine setup documentation for consistency and future use.
  • Process Improvement: Stay informed about cutting-edge technology, suggest new processes, and improve machining practices.
  • Project Management: Collaborate with management to meet production deadlines and address potential issues proactively.
  • Technical Support: Aid in developing technical solutions to production issues.
  • Quality Assurance: Work with Engineering and Quality teams to uphold high-quality standards and compliance with procedures.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Team Support: Support and mentor team members as needed.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Follow all Health and Safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as required.

Experience & Skills:

  • Essential:
    • Extensive experience in CNC programming, setting, and operating, preferably in aerospace.
    • Proficiency with CAD/CAM offline programming using EDGECAM.
    • Experience with 3, 4, and 5-axis machines.
    • Ability to edit programs with Fanuc and Sinumerik controls.
    • Competence in reading engineering drawings and using precision measuring tools.
    • Familiarity with Metric and Imperial measurements.
    • Strong computer skills and methodical work approach.
