Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting, Planning & Forecasting: Prepare, analyse, and present accurate financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements. Budget Management: Develop and monitor budgets, forecasting financial performance, and advising on budgetary adjustments. Cash Flow Management: Oversee cash flow planning, ensuring the firm has adequate funds for operational needs. Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, including legal industry-specific requirements such as trust accounting and client fund management. Audit: Coordinate external audits and prepare necessary documentation to ensure a smooth and successful audit process. Strategic Planning: Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making, including profitability analysis of different practice areas. Team Leadership: Lead and develop 2 legal cashiers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
About you
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. CPA, CMA, or ACCA certification preferred. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, ideally within a law firm or within professional services. Technical Skills: Proficient in financial software with advanced Excel skills. Knowledge: Strong understanding of legal industry financial practices, including trust accounting, billing cycles, and regulatory compliance. You must have knowledge of the SRA accounting rules.
