Position Overview: We are currently seeking an experienced Consultant for Supermarket Distribution Center setup to lead the planning, construction, and optimization of our client's upcoming distribution centers. In this role, you will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to ensure the seamless integration of the new facility into their operational framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a thorough evaluation of the client's existing distribution processes, identifying areas for enhancement and optimization.
  • Develop a comprehensive strategy for the design, construction, and layout of the new distribution center, encompassing warehouse configuration, equipment procurement, and workflow optimization.
  • Liaise with external vendors and contractors to oversee the procurement and installation of necessary equipment and infrastructure for the distribution center.
  • Implement industry-leading best practices and standards to streamline operations and enhance efficiency within the distribution center.
  • Design and deliver training programs for distribution center staff, ensuring proficiency in equipment operation and adherence to operational protocols.
  • Monitor the performance of the distribution center post-launch, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective measures as necessary.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to the client's management team throughout the setup and operational phases of the distribution center.

    Qualifications:

    • Demonstrated expertise in the design and setup of distribution centers, ideally within the retail or supermarket sector.
    • In-depth understanding of warehouse operations, logistics, and supply chain management principles.
    • Proven track record in project management, with the ability to effectively plan, execute, and deliver results on time and within budget.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify challenges, develop solutions, and make data-driven decisions to optimize performance.
    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Advanced qualifications or certifications are advantageous.
