An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 nurse to join Rainbow Ward.  Are you ready for a new challenge?

Rainbow ward is a 12 bed ward caring for children with oncology and haematology disorders. We care for patients that require  surgery, immunotherapy, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Rainbow ward also cares for palliative patients who have complex symptom control and psychological needs.

We are looking to employ a dynamic forward thinking individual as a Band 6 staff nurse. This individual should be caring, compassionate and a competent nurse. The ideal candidate is someone who works well under pressure, with excellent time management skills and is dedicated to excellent patient care.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for competently providing safe and effective care, without supervision to children requiring in-patient hospitalisation and day stay care facilities. Assess care needs, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care. Participate in the supervision, teaching, mentorship and appraisal of pre and post registration staff.

Regularly co-ordinate the management of care delivered by nursing and non-nursing support staff, taking charge of the ward in the absence of the ward manager. Demonstrate excellent leadership ability.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
