Job Title: Finance Manager
Job Purpose:
To oversee and manage the finance function across the Gloucester site and other UK locations, ensuring the timely delivery of management accounts. The role involves supporting the UK Financial Controller by ensuring the accuracy of accounting records and identifying opportunities for improving efficiency and enhancing the quality of financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the UK Financial Controller, the Finance Manager will be responsible for:
- Establishing and managing weekly and monthly efficiency variance and price variance reporting.
- Assisting the business in understanding and managing its key financial indicators.
- Leading the transactional finance team, providing mentorship, and holding team members accountable for performance.
- Managing working capital by setting up review processes and calculating key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Preparing and maintaining Liquidated Damages and warranty schedules, closely collaborating with the business to identify risks and opportunities.
- Preparing Profit and Loss accounts.
- Performing Balance Sheet reconciliations, including bank reconciliations and the posting of monthly journals.
- Maintaining the fixed asset register.
- Managing monthly accruals and prepayments, including stock-related activities.
- Handling intercompany accounting, including the raising of monthly intercompany invoices and reconciliation.
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns, ECC Sales, and Intrastat reports.
- Preparing, reviewing, and submitting monthly payroll information.
- Ensuring accurate accounting for foreign offices and coordinating their funding requirements.
- Supporting the UK Financial Controller with various reporting and analysis needs.
- Collaborating closely with other finance team members and providing support as needed.
Required Expertise:
- CIMA/ACCA qualified accountant with experience in the manufacturing or a similar industry.
- Strong technical skills in management accounting with a minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience.
- Deep understanding of financial processes and controls.
- Proactive, hands-on approach with a demonstrated ability to improve financial processes.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and other IT tools.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure, meet strict reporting deadlines, and work collaboratively with key stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with various business partners and stakeholders.
