Role Description
- Reporting to the Finance & Personnel Director, this is a full-time, on-site role for an Accountant with responsibility for Payroll and Personnel Administration. The role will be responsible for:-
Hoggs of Fife Ltd:-- Assisting with the Preparation and Analysis of the Monthly Management Accounts, including Balance Sheet and Reconciliation of Balance Sheet items such as Accruals & Prepayments, Pensions, N.I. etc.
- Stock-turn Reporting.
- Labour Analysis.
- Quarterly VAT Returns.
- Multi-currency Cash-flows.
- Bank Reconciliations.
- Statutory Reporting and Co-ordinating Annual Audit.
- Fixed Asset Register.
- Budgeting and Forecasting.
Clunie Investments Ltd- Monthly invoicing of rental invoices for owned properties.
- Preparation and Analysis of the Monthly Management Accounts, including Balance Sheet.
- Bank Reconciliations.
- Project - Upgrade spread-sheets currently used to an Accounting Package such as Xero.
Payroll & Personnel- Payroll responsibilities will be Monthly Payroll, including HMRC and Pension Obligations and Year End Processes.
- The role will also assist with the day-to-day operation of the Personnel function with duties such as updating Employee Records and maintaining the Employee Database.
Qualifications- Experience of working in a Financial & Administrative Environment and working with other departments and senior level stakeholders to resolve business issues.
- Technical Knowledge and in-depth understanding of Accounting Regulations, Processes and Procedures.
- Experience of E.R.P. & Accounting Packages, preferably Sage 200 and Xero.
- Diligent with strong attention to detail and able to get behind the numbers.
- Ability to produce work with a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Accustomed to working in an office environment that often demands high levels of concentration, while coping with frequent interruptions.
- Organisational and Workload Management Skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively on the telephone and in person, at all levels.
- Excellent I.T. skills with advanced knowledge in the use of Microsoft Excel (Index Matching, Look-ups, Pivot Tables, Conditional Statements), to be able to manipulate data with strong data interrogation skills and proficient in Word and Outlook.
- Experience in payroll processing and knowledge of HMRC Rules and Regulations relating to Personal Taxation, National Insurance, Pensions, etc would be advantageous but training will be given.
- Knowledge of Personnel Practices, Employment Law, and The Good Work Plan etc would be advantageous but training will be given..
