Permanent role - 37 hrs core per week

Salary - up to £40,594 + overtime + standby (OTE of £6000 in overtime, standby and callout payments)

Location: Pity Me, Durham (Mobile Worker with van and fuel card provided)

Are you passionate about joining a team dedicated to making a positive direct impact on the environment and the communities we serve?

We are looking to recruit an Industrial Electrical Technician to work in the Pity Me Maintenance team (Durham area). No two days are the same, and you will have unique opportunities to use your expertise in both fault diagnosis and preventative maintenance to improve plant availability.

At Northumbrian Water Group we have a diverse range of equipment allowing us to offer a unique prospect to specialise in areas such as PLC’s, telemetry, level control and variable speed drives.

You will be a fully mobile worker and will be provided with a van, starting and finishing your working day from home. All tools and equipment are provided supporting Technicians to minimise plant down time.

The role requires participation in an out of hour’s standby rota. We will ensure that you have the relevant training and experience required to do this. Additional payments are made for standby, callouts and any additional hours worked.

At Northumbrian Water Group we recognise potential, offering a tailored training package, development, and growth opportunities for people to progress internally. With our committed leadership and close-knit teams, you will never be short of support in your role.

About you

You will be a time served Electrical Technician educated to at least ONC/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering. You will have a maintenance background in reactive breakdowns and planned work, and you will manage your time efficiently with minimal supervision. You will be experienced in reading and finding faults from electrical drawings, identifying the source and replacing faulty components.

We are looking for candidates with a can-do attitude, willingness to learn and explore new ways of working. A hands-on practical approach and keen eye for identifying the route cause whilst investigating problems and implementing solutions is essential in this role.

You’ll have excellent communication skills and be a team player. A strong Health and Safety ethic is an important part of our Everybody Home Safe Everyday culture.

A full, manual UK driving license is essential for this role.

What we will give you

You will have the potential to receive payment for up to 4 Technical Modules, (£1500 per module per year) with expectation that each Technician will achieve a minimum of 2 modules within 3 years.

We offer generous holiday arrangements, with annual leave entitlement starting on 23 days + Bank Holidays – rising to 28 days with length of service. We also offer additional 2 x ½ days special leave each year and the option to buy and sell leave.

Rewards & Benefits include up to 10% company pension scheme contribution, access to 24/7 digital GP, wellbeing support and annual health screenings. We offer a Cycle to Work Scheme a Discount Portal, and paid time off to take part in community events. All tools, PPE and company uniform are supplied.

This role is defined as a Safety and Security Critical role and prospective employees are required to undertake a drug and alcohol test after the job offer has been made. This will be prior to or within four weeks of their start date.

Prospective employees and agency workers who fail a pre-employment urine drug screen will have their sample analysed by the Company appointed laboratory as a matter of course. Failing a pre-employment drugs or alcohol test may lead to the job offer being revoked.
