About the role
In this role, you will support the development and implementation of abrdn’s Technology Governance framework with the Information Security Governance Manager and the wider team, ensuring alignment with global security standards (e.g., COBIT and NIST) and regulatory expectations to protect abrdn’s customers and clients. You will engage with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure our core governance mechanisms for technology and security are running smoothly by identifying, reporting, and managing risks, controls, and reporting effectively. You will also support external reviews and requests from stakeholders such as clients, regulators, and auditors. Additionally, you will maintain and develop IT policies as part of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework, ensuring alignment with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and the evolving risk landscape. Your role will include providing risk-based reviews of third-party assurance returns for Information Technology, driving the design and delivery of insightful Technology reporting for senior teams and boards, and collaborating with stakeholders to support governance initiatives aimed at continuous improvement and risk reduction.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the development and implementation of abrdn’s Technology Governance framework.
Engage with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure smooth operation of governance mechanisms.
Maintain and develop IT policies as part of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
Provide risk-based reviews of third-party assurance returns for Information Technology.
Drive the design and delivery of insightful Technology reporting for senior teams and boards.
About the candidate:
The technology and governance specialist will possess the following:
Demonstrable knowledge of industry standards and practices across Technology, Cyber, and Resilience Risk.
Strong understanding of risk management practices and their application in financial services organisations.
Fully conversant with Technology Risk and relevant industry standards (i.e., COBIT, NIST, ISO 27001/2).
Good understanding of IT, Security, and associated practices in large organisations, including the impact of regulation on cyber and technology.
Experience developing and maintaining Technology policies and standards to improve security culture.
Motivated individual with an ability to build productive and trusted relationships both internally and externally.
