Corporate Solicitor | Senior

My client is a full-service law firm. The Corporate Team is busy and needs an experienced pair of hands. They have a good pipeline of work coming in and the HoD urgently needs someone solid to help him grow the practice.
The firm and team are genuinely nice, but also very capable.
Primary Duties
- You will play a key role in the growth and development of the department. To work in conjunction with your Head of Department (HOD), in dealing with the Firm’s Corporate and Commercial workload. To develop the commercial work and other suitable work for the department. To develop own caseload through new clients, existing clients and as a consequence of marketing efforts. This will be on your own and/or in tandem with other members of the team. To support HOD on complex cases as required.
Play a key role of the development of the department and dealing with a broad mix of work including:
- Mergers and acquisitions, Corporate restructuring, Shareholders' agreements, LLP and partnership matters Commercial contracts including sale of goods and services, IT and IP, and data protection. Assist the department in providing insolvency services included in sales and purchases from administrators and liquidators. Develop any existing areas of specialisation within the departmental structure. Maintain communication with professional advisers including corporate finance advisers, accountants, and tax specialists as well as liaising with other teams within Clarke & Son who may be involved in certain transactions. Engage in active marketing of the Department including attending network events and business development events. Accountable to HOD.
Other duties
- To attend departmental meetings as required. Marketing - promoting own department, engaging in initiatives of the firm. Training - self - Professional (ensuring compliance with CPD requirements), I.T. and Management Training - others - to assist in and promote staff training and development. Supervision and management of staff to include the carrying out of appraisal and reviews of departmental staff as appropriate. Carry out other tasks commensurate with position as a fee earner or as are reasonably requested by the Directors. Engage in the promotion of the Corporate Commercial department and of the firm generally. Liaise with and assist Head of Corporate Commercial Department in the management of the Department. Engage in any initiatives or activities as reasonably requested by the Directors in relation to the marketing of the services of the firm generally. Generally, to promote the reputation of the firm.
