Macsween of Edinburgh are looking to recruit Factory Operatives to work in our food manufacturing site in Bilston, Loanhead.

Macsween of Edinburgh are a family run business and have been since 1953. The primary function of the factory is to produce quality food in a safe manner, in line with regulations. We mainly produce haggis (including vegetarian and gluten free), black pudding and white pudding.

Being part of a team lead by the Production Manager, you will assist in the manufacturing of all our food products. The job requires accuracy and strict adherence to correct safety and manufacturing procedures.

You will be part of a team responsible for the following duties in particular:

  • Preparation of raw materials for each batch of production.
  • To assist in the production of each batch of product (under the direction of the Production Manager) following all operational standards.
  • To assist in all procedures, such as recording temperatures, cooking times, filling in weights for the production records etc.
  • To assist in the cleaning of the factory area daily.
  • Quality control.
  • To report immediately any faults in the production process, machinery, or associated production equipment.

We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable and punctual individuals to join our growing team.

Ideally, candidates will hold previous experience within a food manufacturing environment, however this is not essential as full training will be provided.
