Are you a driven, compassionate and collaborative individual with first-class guidance skills and a proven ability to work intensively with individuals and support their progression, plus deliver effective one-to-one and group sessions?  Do you have a sound knowledge regarding the issues affecting the rehabilitation of offenders, and desistance theory?

If so, join St Giles as our CFO Wing Facilitator working on our CFO Evolution programme, which will see you provide vital support via regular one-to-one reflective practice meetings and group interventions to a caseload of hard-to-reach participants in custody to prepare for engagement with the core prison provision and release.

About this key role

Reporting to the CFO Evolution Team Leader, our successful candidate will provide ongoing resettlement support needs and deliver high-quality, engaging group sessions to your assigned participants, while also monitoring and reviewing each individual’s progress to ensure high attendance, achievement rates and progression.  You will be expected to contribute to making contact and establishing relationships with new participants and to assist them to understand the benefits of engaging with the CFO Evolution programme, plus provide participants with structured feedback and set development objectives.

We will rely on you to develop strong relationships with HMPPS/agencies offering support and, where appropriate, feed into stage 2 and 3 of the CFO Wing provision by providing holistic wrap-around with general elements of resettlement support.  In collaboration with the local CFO Activity Hub, planning for and facilitating effective Through the Gate and warm handovers to the relevant Support Worker in Community is also a key element of this role.

What we are looking for

Working with offenders, or those disaffected and marginalised from mainstream services, in training, guidance, advice and counselling environments is desirable Knowledge of HM Prison environments and/or training, education and employment opportunities locally and nationally, and of training and guidance Thorough understanding of the importance of quality assurance as it relates to assessing Demonstrable ability to support and motivate learners with multiple complex needs Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written A flexible, collaborative and professional approach to your work
