Due to my clients continued growth, we are currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their Refurbishment & Building Solutions division based in Sheffield. You will be working on a Healthcare refurbishment / fit-out projected located in York, therefor you will be required to travel between Sheffield and York.

The Role:

As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the Refurbishment and Building Solutions Team, supporting them in the delivery of projects.

Your day to day will include:

  • To maximise the planned gross margin on projects and support the achievement of the project's budgeted profitability.
  • Tender, evaluate, recommend and appoint consultants, subcontractors and to place orders for materials and plant all within delegated authorities
  • To identify/ evaluate, communicate negotiate and agree variations to contracts with customers and suppliers within delegated authorities and requirements of the contract.
  • To implement policies for price, costs and gross margins.
  • To measure and value work to support the invoicing of customers and payment to suppliers within delegated authorities and in accordance with the requirements of the contract.

Requirements

This role of Quantity Surveyor is great for you if:

  • Holds the relevant qualifications (Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying desirable).
  • Experience within a similar role.
  • Literate and Numerate.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
  • Willing to undertake training and development when appropriate.
  • Must be flexible and able to work as part of a team and using own initiative.
