Job Title: Engineering Manager - Safety & Environmental Engineering (Product Safety)

What you'll be doing:

  • You will be responsible for interfacing within Key Safety Functional (KSF) areas
  • Be the Focal point for reviewing concessions and design changes for potential impacts to safety
  • Joint Delivery Authority (JDA) representative at the Technical Authority Safety Working Group (TASWG) and Platform & Secondary Propulsion Change Management Committee (PSPCMC)
  • Management of the JDA Hazard management Process, and responsible for the Hazard Risk Management Working Group (HRMWG) and the Federated Safety Working Party (FSWP)
  • Co-ordinate with Build Assurance Safety Manager to monitor progression of Platform build in Barrow and associated plans

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Be able to demonstrate stakeholder management skillsets and experiences with senior board levels
  • Hold a degree within a STEM subject

Desirable:

  • Background in safety management
  • Line management experience

The Joint Design Authority team:

The Dreadnought Alliance is a collaboration between Rolls-Royce, BAE Systems (BAES) and the Ministry of Defence to deliver the 'Dreadnought Class SSBN' programme. The scope of the Dreadnought Programme is the delivery of four SSBNs to the Royal Navy to maintain Continuous At Sea Deterrence (CASD).

This post is part of the Joint Design Authority within the Dreadnought Alliance, which is the Platform & Whole Boat Design Authority for Dreadnought, structured around the Alliance Project Team engineering team and BAES Office of the Chief Engineer (OCE) team.
