Job Description: 
The Learning Support Assistant (LSA) will play a vital role in supporting the educational and developmental needs of students within the classroom setting. Working closely with teachers and other support staff, the successful candidate will provide assistance and guidance to students who require additional support to access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals. 

 
Requirements: 
  • Candidates would have their own transport and would be willing to pick up ASAP requests early in the morning to fill short notice absences with local schools. These opportunities will often turn into ongoing placements. SET Education has an excellent track record of assisting its workers into full time permanent positions after a period of supply, if that is their objective.  
  • We will work around your availability and your own travel limits, but if you are looking to secure something long term, the willingness to work full time is a significant advantage.  
  • Being able to work the full school day of 8.30-15.30 is essential.  
  • Experience working or volunteering with children in the UK, ideally within an education setting.   
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.⯠
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of all students.⯠
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to respond positively to the changing needs of students and the school community.â¯â¯ 
  • Although not essential, we are always looking for Welsh speaking staff in particular and can often offer enhanced rates for placements at Welsh Medium Schools. 

Key Responsibilities:⯠ 
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, both in the classroom and during activities, ensuring they are able to fully engage with the curriculum.⯠
  • Assist teachers in planning and implementing tailored learning activities to meet the needs of all students.⯠
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and empowered to succeed.⯠
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff members to monitor student progress and implement effective strategies for improvement.⯠
  • Uphold the school's policies and procedures, promoting a safe and respectful learning environment for all.⯠
