Full-time or Part-time Science Teacher

 

MPS/UPS + SEN 1

 

Start date: 1st September 2024

 

Would you like more time to build relationships with your students, have smaller teaching groups (a maximum of seven students) but still be able to teach students with the potential to achieve high grades at GCSE and A Level? Due to expansion, we have a vacancy for an experienced and enthusiastic Science teacher.

We can offer you the opportunity to focus on a small number of students with an Education, Health Care Plan for Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs and transform their experience of education. You would also be supported by a formal induction process and training opportunities.

This post will be based at our Upper School (KS4) site, mainly teaching GCSE biology to students in years 10 and 11. The ability to also teach GCSE Chemistry and/or Maths would be an advantage. A well-equipped Science Lab is shared with the sixth form provision on the same site, and technician support is available for the preparation and delivery of practical science.

All our staff work in a flexible way and so there may be the potential to also teach GCSE and/or A level subjects in our sixth form. All full-time subject teachers also work as tutors, taking pastoral responsibility for 6-8 students.

We are committed to offering a broad and balanced curriculum to allow students a huge choice and develop their interests. As well as engaging in the formal taught curriculum, students are encouraged to develop in other areas through our DofE activity programme. Supporting our students in developing positive relationships, self-confidence, resilience, and creativity is crucial to our ethos and is not measured solely by our academic results but by the views of our past and present students.
