The Role and Department

The Finance Service's role is broad covering management of all of the University's financial matters. We work to support the University in achieving its strategic goals to be financially sustainable and responsible.
Our objectives are:-
- To provide pertinent and robust management information, financial advice and appropriate challenge.
- To run agile, responsive and efficient services for financial transactions.
- To ensure financial compliance and accountability
- To provide the highest quality customer service to our stakeholders
We promote and support effective financial management throughout the University, and work proactively to enable the University to continuously improve its financial performance and the value for money it offers to its students, customers and funders.
This is a wide-ranging role in which the Tax Manager covering all taxes, but more particularly VAT, Customs Duties and Corporation Tax. Working with key stakeholders, the Tax Manager will ensure the University optimises its tax position whilst ensuring compliance with all relevant tax regulations, both in the UK and abroad.
