Lecturer in Agricultural Engineering - The Role:

Wiltshire College & University Centre is seeking a passionate and experienced Lecturer in Agricultural Engineering to join our dedicated team at the Lackham Campus. Lecturer in Agricultural Engineering - Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Engaging Lectures and Workshops: Plan and conduct dynamic lectures, practical demonstrations, and workshops in agricultural engineering techniques, focusing on cutting-edge industry practices and technological advancements.
  • Curriculum Development: Design and update curriculum materials to align with current industry standards and technological innovations, ensuring our students receive the most relevant and up-to-date education.
  • Student Support: Provide constructive feedback and support to students, fostering their academic growth and enhancing their practical skills.
  • Hands-On Training: Facilitate hands-on training sessions in our well-equipped laboratories and workshop environments, emphasizing health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborative Innovation: Work with colleagues to develop innovative teaching methods and assessment tools aimed at maximizing student engagement and achievement.
  • Course Development: Contribute to the creation of new courses and initiatives that meet the evolving needs of the agricultural engineering sector.
  • Professional Development: Engage in departmental meetings, committees, and continuous professional development activities to ensure the highest standards of teaching and learning.

Lecturer in Agricultural Engineering - You:

We are looking for candidates who are not only experts in their field but also enthusiastic about teaching and mentoring. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Educational Background: A relevant degree or level 3 vocational qualification in agricultural engineering or a closely related field.
  • Practical Experience: Proven experience working in agricultural engineering or as an instructor in an industrial or educational setting.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of agricultural engineering processes, techniques, and equipment, with a focus on modern technology and practices.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging and motivating students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Safety Commitment: A demonstrated commitment to upholding health and safety standards in a workshop or laboratory setting.
  • Curriculum Skills: Experience in curriculum development, assessment design, and quality assurance practices.
  • Teaching Qualification: A teaching qualification or a willingness to work towards achieving one.
