Who You Are

Our Technical Sales Coordinator/Estimator will play a crucial role in our team, serving as the customer s first point of contact This role is integral to the success of our business development and Internal sales teams.

You possess both technical understanding and commercial competencies, you have a proven track record in optimising and winning orders/projects and seeing these through to successful completion.

The Opportunity

This position acts as a liaison between customers, the business development and the Internal sales teams with a specific interface to ensure any technical requirements are fully understood by the production teams at the time of quotation and throughout the process. Customer management is key to attaining successful project completion, you will support the sales team with customer relationship building in order to acquire new business opportunities.

You will need to be confident in interpreting technical drawings using CAD. By analysing requirements, understanding market trends, and evaluating production costs, you will prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals. In this role you will need to create and develop accurate and competitive pricing quotations for potential clients to meet their needs, you will have the ability to negotiate prices to win orders.

You will be experienced and competent at both comprehending and understanding fabrication and facades as well as construction processes. Ideally you will have experience in anodising plating or PPC/painting.

Technical Sales Coordinator / Estimator Overview of responsibilities

Sales Coordination

Building and maintaining direct relationships with customers, understanding their requirements and ensuring efficient and detailed response.

Processing sales orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely delivery and fulfilment of customer requests.

Maintaining sales databases and CRM system, updating customer information, tracking sales activities, and generating reports as needed.

Maintaining accurate records of pricing data, proposals, and customer communications for future reference and analysis.

Quoting

Serving as a primary point of contact for customer inquiries, providing timely and professional responses via phone, email, or in-person meetings.

Generating detailed quotations and proposals tailored to each client's specifications and budget constraints.

Relationship Building

Cultivating positive relationships with customers, addressing their needs and concerns promptly and professionally to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Following up on communicating pricing information and proposal details, to ensure orders are won.

Assessing competitor challenges to enhance market understanding addressing any inquiries or concerns in a timely manner.

Analysis

Following standardized pricing model, and understanding how and when to deviate from this model to maximize margin, win orders.

Internal Collaboration

Collaborating with other departments including production, engineering, quality and accounts to streamline processes, resolve issues, and support overall business objectives.

Collaborating with the business development and sales team to ensure a consistent approach across projects and market.

Technical Drawings

Accurately interpreting architectural and engineering drawings to understand the project scope, dimensions, and specifications.

Determining the areas and volumes of spaces and materials from plans, sections, and elevations.

Estimating costs calculating pricing based on the quantities of materials identified in the technical drawings. With assessment as to flight bar loading and production efficiency.

Using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to view and manipulate technical drawings.

Update quotations, and manage PO amendments based on any revisions to the technical drawings or customer requirements.

Fabrication and Facades

Ideally a candidate will have:

A comprehensive understanding of various aspects related to the fabrication process to provide accurate quotations.

Knowledge of metals (steel, aluminium, copper) and their properties.

Understanding of time required to complete various fabrication processes.

Ability to analyse architectural and fabrication drawings and specifications to understand the design, materials, and scope of the façade as relevant to the anodising process.

Identify Key Components: Identify all elements of the facade, including windows, cladding, insulation, structural supports, and finishes. To ensure that the scope of supply is optimized for anodising.

Calculate relevant panel and extruded section surface areas, along with flight bar loadings ( square meters and weight ) to ensure that capacity requirements are understood.

Work with CAD software to extract measurements and details from architectural drawings.

Track Change by maintaining a record of changes and adjustments made to the original estimate.

Hours of work

Monday- Thursday- 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Fridays 8.30-3pm.

Is this role for you?

Experience we are looking for:

Previous relevant experience in a similar role. I.e. within a finishing company, window fabricator or High specification sheet metal fabrication organisation.

Proven experience in sales coordination, project management or estimating, preferably in an allied manufacturing industry.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritise effectively.

Attention to detail in handling sales documentation, data entry, and customer correspondence.

Ideally Proficient in using CAD.

Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues, analyse root causes, and propose effective solutions.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and support colleagues to achieve common goals.

Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Strong analytical and mathematical skills with the ability to interpret data and perform cost analysis.

Meticulous attention to detail in preparing pricing quotations and proposals.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and persuasively.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software applications for data analysis and proposal generation.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
