Place2Be Supervising Counsellor, Wembley High and North Brent Secondary Schools, Wembley

Wembley, United Kingdom Place2Be Full time

About The Role

Together we can change children’s lives. At Place2Be, we believe every child should have easy access to mental health support whenever they need it. We create a safe place in schools where children and young people can open up without pressure or stigma, allowing our highly skilled and diverse counsellors to reach children, young people and their families who need us.

A qualified therapist/ counsellor, you’ve been working in the profession for at least a year, and now it’s time to take the next step.  As a School Project Manager your main focus is assessment and formulation of referrals and supporting and overseeing the work of the Counsellors on Placement enabling them to deliver interventions across all year groups and achieve the best outcomes for the young people we support. You’ll still deliver some therapeutic work with children yourself, including some group/whole class work, but ultimately, you’ll be shaping clinical delivery of services within the school you operate.

This role is part of an exciting new project with Wembley Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) across three schools and two School Project Managers. The role will support the secondary schools, Wembley High Technology College (2-days) and North Brent Secondary (1-day). Tuesdays would be your Area Team Meeting day and you would overlap with the SPM on the same site, at East Lane Primary, for valuable opportunity to network and support each other as colleagues working within the MAT.

As part of a huge community of practitioners across the United Kingdom, you’ll have opportunities to share best practice and develop clinical thinking, knowledge and learning. You’ll have access to an enormous range of training and development and a pathway to develop and grow your career.

For a career with purpose, this is your place.

Recruitment Process

As part of the application, you will need to answer some questions to support your application. Please do answer as thoroughly as you can as your answers will be used in the shortlisting process. We recommend using the STAR method Situation, Task, Action and Result.

Closing date for applications: 18 August 2024

Interviews date:  across the 27 & 28 August 2024

Our Benefits

When you work at Place2Be –whether that's in a school, supporting families, providing clinical supervision, or in IT, Finance, or Fundraising –every role can make the difference to a young person.

To achieve this, we ask that you bring your best self to your role and our commitment to you, is to welcome you into our community, and help you progress. Because we know that you being at your best, means the best outcomes for the children we support.

Here’s just a few things we have on offer:

Annual Leave that increases with service Comprehensive learning and development to enable you to progress your career 5% contributory pension scheme Life assurance of four times your annual salary A comprehensive employee assistance programme Mobile Phone Discounts (EE network) Wellbeing days to allow you some ‘you’ time Christmas holidays closure period in addition to your annual leave

We welcome applications from everyone regardless of age, gender, gender identity, gender expression, ethnicity, sexual orientation, faith or disability. We particularly encourage applications from Black, Asian and Minority ethnic candidates and disabled candidates who are currently underrepresented within our organization

Please note if we receive a high volume of applications, we may close this vacancy early. If you are interested, please apply asap.

Safeguarding the young people we support is our top priority. We are committed to recruiting candidates who share this commitment to safeguarding, and we therefore apply robust recruitment and selection procedures to ensure all candidates are appropriate for the roles they apply for and are appropriately screened prior to appointment including DBS checks and social media background checks.
