Looking for flexible, enthusiastic and friendly staff to join the team working in a local public library.

We require candidates with substantial experience of working in a public library. Experience of using a Library Management System and good IT skills. Excellent customer service and have experience of delivering library activities to children.

17.38 p/h PAYE - 22.18 p/h Umbrella

Based near Canary Wharf

Part-time - 13 hours per week -

working two evenings - Wed & Thursday 6-9 and every Saturday 9-5

Responsibilities

  • Assisting library users by providing excellent customer service and answering queries
  • Supporting with library operations, including shelving books, organising resources, and maintaining a clean environment
  • Assisting with library events and workshops, including setup and coordination
  • Promoting library services and programmes to the community
  • Helping residents with computer and digital literacy needs

Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience)

  • Strong customer service skills and a passion for helping others
  • Sound knowledge of library operations and services
  • Familiarity with the local area and an ability to provide advice and recommendations to library users
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Desirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience)

  • Experience working in a library or customer service role
  • Knowledge of cataloguing systems and library resources
  • Ability to provide resident engagement and advice

We will complete an enhanced DBS, criminal background check, on your behalf.
