We currently have a fantastic role available for a Design and Technology and Art Technician at Yate Academy.
The successful candidate will prepare equipment and materials for lessons, assessments, and extracurricular activities, and will provide support to teaching staff and classes across the Design and Technology and Arts Departments. We are looking for an efficient and competent technician to join our supportive and professional departments who have a strong emphasis on enabling our students to have a better chance of success.
Main Responsibilities:
• To prepare materials and equipment for practical lessons
• To maintain and monitor consumables and equipment in Design and Technology and Arts.
• To maintain and monitor stock controls across all departments.
• To assist the Head of Departments in the ordering of materials and equipment.
• To carry out weekly material, equipment and resources checks across all Department rooms.
• To assist staff in the production and updating of Technology displays.
• To assist staff in the demonstration and application of machinery use to students.
• To be proficient in a range of CAD software and provide technical support during lesson time.
• To provide technical support to staff during lesson time as required.
• Carry out weekly Health and Safety checks on all equipment and machinery and report directly to the Head of Departments.
• To maintain machinery and equipment in accordance with health and safety requirements, including CAD CAM, kitchen equipment, lighting equipment, and sound equipment.
• To undertake any Health and Safety training as required by the HOD.
• Carry out a range of administration duties including ordering, preparing resources, and work space audits.
